Safari comes with a setting to completely deny ANY website to ask for permissions to send notification alerts
A browser feature I’ve been waiting for! Introduced already since Safari 12 for macOS High Sierra and Mojave.
How to disable websites asking for notification permissions
- Go to Safari » Preferences
- Click the «
Websites
»-tab - Select «
Notifications
» from the list - DEACTIVATE the checkbox
«Allow websites to ask for permission to send notifications»
Done – now enjoy one distracting popup-message less while browsing the web… 🧘
While this truly is a nice feature (a feature to turn off a feature, how ironic), I am sorry to say that you are late to the game, because this was introduced in Safari 12.
The following to article from 2018 describe this feature: https://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/how-to-turn-off-safari-website-notifications/
Thanks for this additional info, Martin! I updated the post to reflect this.
