I’m surprised this has not received more attention yet:

macOS High Sierra finally ships with a new quick “Lock Screen” feature!
…just like it’s famous in Windows since years.

Known from Windows as Windows+L shortcut to quickly lock the screen, requiring user and password of the currently logged in user to unlock the computer, Apple finally introduces the same feature with it’s new OS macOS High Sierra.

  1. I used to have a lock icon on my Sierra OS (from keychain access preferences) – but now I can’t seem to find that option again. I will just need to use the shortcut I guess.

    1. Oh wow, thanks for that hint A Whitaker! I didn’t know they shipped such a feature already with macOS Sierra! You can easily bring it to the menu bar or assign a custom keyboard shortcut to it; and have the same “Lock screen” feature as they’ll introduce with High Sierra.
