🪦 RIP to the future of my custom Games Folder Icon for all your Mac Gamers out there… macOS 26 «Tahoe» introduces individually customizing folders, to resemble a theme/topic using icons and emojis – and it’s as easy as a piece of cake. Anyhow – let’s go with a blast:

How to apply it: upon downloading and extracting the .icns
-file, inspect the Folder in Finder you want to assign it to, and then drag’n’drop the icon-file onto the folder icon (top left of the info window).
2 steps: Customize yourself an Icon for a themed Folder
- Select a Folder in Finder, and Right-Click »
Customize Folder…
Also works via «File» menu when a Folder is selected.
- Pick any Icon you like… DONE
Or alternatively set a colorful emoji via the «Emoji»-button and search below 🙂
Pro tip: Further adjust the appearance of Folders and icons OS-wide via the updated macOS «Appearance»-System Settings.
