🪦 RIP to the future of my custom Games Folder Icon for all your Mac Gamers out there… macOS 26 «Tahoe» introduces individually customizing folders, to resemble a theme/topic using icons and emojis – and it’s as easy as a piece of cake. Anyhow – let’s go with a blast:

Here’s maybe my last macOS «Games»-folder icon update, after 18 years!

How to add a Gaming themed icon to Folders in macOS

Prefer «old style»? Download each game icon version here:

How to apply it: upon downloading and extracting the .icns-file, inspect the Folder in Finder you want to assign it to, and then drag’n’drop the icon-file onto the folder icon (top left of the info window).

2 steps: Customize yourself an Icon for a themed Folder

  1. Select a Folder in Finder, and Right-Click » Customize Folder…
Also works via «File» menu when a Folder is selected.
